VASEP NEWS: "Vinh Hoan Corp's pangasius farming area about to be granted Global G.A.P"
Vasep - Intentionally, at the end of June, 2010, two pangasius farming areas in Tan Thuan Tay and Tan Hoa (Dong Thap) with 40 hectares owned by Vinh Hoan Corporation (Vinh Hoan Corp) will be granted Global GAP certification. This is also the largest pangasius farming area in Vietnam to be granted Global GAP certification
Ms Ta Thi Bich Ngoc, Manager of Green Farm Project of Vinh Hoan Corp said that the company intended to build a farming area which meets Global GAP standards to penetrate further into the European market and perform the sustainable development strategy. So far, together with food safety and seafood origin, this strategy has become one of integral requirements. As one of Vietnam’s top producers of pangasius, Vinh Hoan Corp always assures that its overall operation do not cause negative impacts to the environment.
Vinh Hoan Corp supposed that clean production should connect closely with healthy environment, especially in human food production. Besides, pangasius farming based on Global GAP will enhance the value of export products and become the most useful “tool” to oppose false and misleading information against Vietnamese pangasius in some European countries. However, a huge amount of money and human resource are required for the company to meet stringent criteria.
In Vietfish 2010, many European customers have paid attention to products granted Global GAP and wanted to visit the company’s farming areas and production facilities. They all highly commended for Vinh Hoan Corp’s farming area and its priority to quality.
Before Vietfish 2010, Vinh Hoan Corp sent importers an email to introduce about its pangasius farming area certified Global GAP and invite them to visit the company’s farming area and store in Vietfish Exhibition 2010.
